TBMG undertakes research in several aspects of theoretical biology and medicine.
Our main Current Research projects include:
Allometric scaling of metabolic rate.We are also pursuing other lines of inquiry, and we are happy to discuss these and alternative possible projects with any researcher who contacts us.
There are also several projects that have been completed, or are currently in abeyance; see Previous Research.

Our open access journal, Theoretical Biology and Medical Modelling (http://www.tbiomed.com/home/), is published by BioMed Central, London. All submitted manuscripts are scrutinised by at least two independent peer reviewers. All published articles may be accessed and downloaded free of charge. Submissions about any aspect of theoretical biology and medical modelling are invited.

TBMG has close links with BioMedES Ltd. (http://www.biomedes.co.uk), an independent company that offers high-quality language editing of manuscripts in all areas of biology and medicine at competitive rates.
April 2011: The journal is receiving an ever-increasing flood of manuscripts, some of high quality – a welcome development! On the research front, our recent paper on allometric scaling in Journal of Experimental Biology has attracted a lot of interest. At present we are working mainly on historical studies, including an examination of Lorenz Fries’s defence of Avicenna in the early 16th century, an appraisal of Leonardo da Vinci’s studies of the heart, and a review of John Hunter’s contribution to our knowledge of venous thrombosis.
